The Skill Cap feature is well known since times of Ultima Online. Skill Cap means that the total sum of all your skills can not be higher than a certain value.

In Life is Feudal MMO, the current Skill Cap is separated into three parts:

In order to manage your skills properly and distribute them in a way that more suits current character there are 3 Skill lock buttons available in a Skill book:

  • SkillUp - Skill Up. Current skill will increase and will never decrease.
  • SkillDown - Skill Down. Current skill will never increase and will decrease if Skill Cap is hit.
  • SkillLock - Skill Lock. Current skill will neither increase nor decrease.

While sum of all skills is lower than Skill Cap value, then skills progression is not limited in any way (unless skills are marked with Skill Down or Skill Lock buttons). But as soon as Skill Cap is being hit and some skill needs to increase its value the following rules applies:

  1. Does that skill have SkillUp ? If "no", then there will be no skill increase.
  2. Are there other skills that have SkillDown ? If "no", then there will be no skill increase.
  3. Are other skills with SkillDown greater than 0? If "no", then there will be no skill increase.

And only when all mentioned above rules will pass with a "yes", only then that skill will increase its value and some other SkillDown skill will decrease its value.

  • NOTE. Lock symbol will ALWAYS prevent locked skill from changing!
